How to read this calendar

These are results-related filings: annual reports, half-year and quarterly results, business updates, and profit guidance. The Results type filter above narrows to one kind, and every entry is placed on the date it was announced.

When are the next results due?

One entry in that filter behaves differently. Results release date shows the day a company's results are due — the date it announced in advance — rather than the day it filed the notice saying so. It answers "when do I next hear from this company", which nothing else on this calendar can, because everything else here is a record of something that has already happened.

SGX-listed companies announce this under a heading of its own, Notification of Results Release, usually a fortnight or so before the event, and most of the large counters do it — the banks, the telcos, the big developers and REITs among them. So the view fills up as a reporting season approaches and is quiet between seasons. A company that has not yet announced its date simply is not on it; that is the company being early rather than the calendar being wrong, and its results will still appear here under All results once filed.

SGX reports half-yearly, not quarterly

Since 2020, quarterly reporting on SGX has been risk-based rather than universal: most issuers publish a half-year and a full-year result, and only companies flagged by the exchange must report every quarter. Many still publish a lighter business update in the off quarters. This is the most common surprise for anyone arriving from a US-listed market where a 10-Q lands every three months — the gaps on this calendar are the rule working normally, not companies going quiet.

Profit guidance is the entry to watch

A profit guidance or profit warning is not a scheduled event. An issuer must disclose material information promptly, so guidance usually appears before the results themselves when the numbers will differ sharply from what the market expects. It often moves the price more than the eventual results filing does, which is why it is a category here rather than being folded into results.

What results change on the rest of the site

The valuation columns elsewhere on this site — dividend cover, net P/E, price-to-book — are only as current as the earnings and book value behind them, which come from a weekly snapshot. Right after a results filing the price has moved but those inputs may not have, so Market at a Glance can briefly show a P/E computed against the previous period's earnings. Reading the filing is what closes that gap, and every entry here links to it.

Everything else an issuer files

Trading halts and suspensions, substantial-shareholder and director dealings, buybacks, placements, rights issues, takeover and delisting notices — anything that is not a meeting, a dividend or a results filing — is published by SGX itself at company announcements, more completely and more currently than a copy here could be.
