Scrip

On SGX this is usually met in "scrip dividend", an arrangement where shareholders may elect to take new shares instead of the cash dividend, letting the company keep the cash. More generally a scrip is a document standing in for money or for a part-entitlement -- for instance the leftover fraction of a share after a bonus issue or a share consolidation.
